Hayman Island (the Island) is a private island owned by Mulpha Australia Limited and managed by InterContinental Hayman Island Resort (IHG). These entities exercise absolute control over the Island and reserve the right to refuse admission to any persons or to require any persons on the Island, at any time and for any reason, to leave the Island.  

All persons entering the Island agree to comply with the Conditions of Entry.

Payment Method

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort is a cashless resort. Cash is no longer accepted on island and all transactions are processed via credit card.

All credit card payments, including advance purchase rates, incur a merchant service fee of 3.0% for Diners Club and 1.5% for all other credit card transactions, in addition to the total amount payable.

Resort Dress Code

For the comfort of all guests a minimum dress standard of smart casual attire and footwear is required in all restaurants, resort public areas and onboard the luxury launch transfers to and from the resort. Public areas include, but are not limited to, The Formal Gardens, Central Lanai, Adventure Lounge and Bar Fifty. Management reserves the right to apply their discretion at all times and refuse service to guests whose dress code presents a health and safety hazard, or does not meet our minimum dress standards. Please note this dress code is also applicable to guests arriving via private vessels.

Swimming & Aquatic Policy

Swimming pools on Hayman Island are unsupervised, children must be supervised by a parent or guardian in the swimming pool areas.

Any persons using the aquatic environments do so at their own risk. Management recommends supervision at all times.

BYO Alcohol Policy

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort is a fully licensed venue where guests are not permitted to bring alcohol onto, or away from, the island. Please note fines are applicable to guests who do not operate in accordance with the resort’s strict no BYO alcohol policy.

Recreational Drone Usage for Resort Guests

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort is committed to maintaining the safety, comfort and privacy of all guests. Recreational drone usage is not permitted on InterContinental Hayman Resort due to safety concerns and the high rates of air traffic in the Whitsundays. This includes but is not limited to all areas of Hayman Island, the resort’s transportation services and on resort tours/activities.

Violation of the resort’s strict no drone usage policy may result in the suspension of your accommodation booking, confiscation of any equipment and subsequent reporting to the Queensland Police. Individuals may be subject to litigious action for violation of privacy, injury to third party and breach of subsequent legislation.

Commercial Drone Usage

Written approval must be obtained from Resort Management prior to drone use on Hayman Island, the resort’s transportation services and on resort tours/activities. Operators can contact hayman.resort@ihg.com for further information. Film crews must have all required Civil Aviation Safety Authority approvals and provide evidence of these approvals to fly in the resort and its vicinity.
