For the second year in a row, InterContinental Hayman Island Resort has won Best Resort of the Year at the HM Awards 2021.

The HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, are the leading industry awards in the region and celebrate the best properties, departments, people, chains and brands in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Each year, more than 1,500 nominations are assessed to determine more than 40 category winners.

Intercontinental Hayman Island Resort has been named the winning 5 Star Luxury Accommodation provider in the 2021 Queensland Tourism Awards.

The Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards recognise remarkable achievements in delivering consistent, exceptional experiences in the global luxury hospitality industry. In 2021, InterContinental Hayman Island Resort has won an Excellence Award for Best Scenic Environment Hotel in Oceania.

The Best of Queensland Experiences Program aims to continuously improve the quality of visitor experiences available in Queensland by providing consumer insights to drive business performance. In 2021, InterContinental Hayman Island Resort has been identified as one of Queensland’s best places to visit to both domestic and for future, international guests.

We are proud to reveal that InterContinental Hayman Island Resort has been crowned Resort Of The Year, and was also recognised as ‘highly commended’ in the category of Tech Hotel. This achievement is a testimony to InterContinental Hayman Island Resort’s incredible team led by General Manager, Arpad Romandy.

In 2020 Kiwi Collection Hotel has awarded InterContinental Hayman Island Resort as Best Hotel Comeback of the year. This award celebrates the resort’s reopening after its two-year closure following Cyclone Debbie, and the nine-figure restoration effort that saw every element of the guest experience re-evaluated and enhanced for the modern traveler. The resort has also been qualified as “one of Australia’s leading luxury resorts” by Kiwi Collection.

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort has proudly won the Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award in 2020. Based on millions of reviews and opinions from travellers from around the world, this annual award recognises the very best tourism establishments in terms of service, quality, customer satisfaction and more, across a range of categories.

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort and Mulpha Australia Limited have proudly won the 2019 Environmental Excellence award at the prestigious UDIA (Urban Development Institute of Australia) Queensland Awards, in recognition of the resort’s incredible refurbishment following Cyclone Debbie in 2017. To win this award, Mulpha had to demonstrate the use and implementation of sustainable techniques and materials for this refurbishment.
