HAYMAN ISLAND
On 1 July 2019, Australia’s most iconic private island resort – InterContinental Hayman Island Resort – reopened having undertaken a $135 million dollar refurbishment after a two-year hiatus due to damages caused by Cyclone Debbie. For travellers across the globe, InterContinental Hayman Island Resort welcomed a new era of immersive luxury in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
Nestled at the northernmost point of Australia’s Whitsunday archipelago, Hayman Island’s location places you moments away from Langford Island, Blue Pearl Bay and Hook Island, while gifting direct access to the region’s icons through exclusive partnerships with Ocean Dynamics and Helireef. Guests can embark on destination experiences, spending the day diving the Great Barrier Reef, exploring Whitehaven Beach, going on guided jet ski adventures, taking glass bottom boat cruises around Hayman Island’s bays or enjoying private helicopter tours. Meanwhile on-island, two iconic swimming pools await alongside tennis camps, a dedicated water activities centre, Hair Salon and Hayman Spa. Families can utilise a world-class InterContinental Planet Trekkers Kid’s Club complete with an educational program centred on local marine life learning and conservation practises. Before dining at one of five distinct restaurants and bars or indulging in a private dining experience under the stars.
Envisioned by a harmonious group of leaders from the design and architectural world including DBI Designs, DAARC and KY Design, the resort’s 168 guest rooms come complete with energy-saving Suite Control, while premium accommodation has been accented by the newly-built Three Bedroom Hayman Beach House and two Hayman Residences. InterContinental Hayman Island Resort is not only Australia’s most iconic holiday destination, but also a place of visual and visceral beauty so deep, it will leave every traveller feeling transformed
The most convenient way to travel to and from Hayman Island is via Great Barrier Reef Airport located on Hamilton Island.
